The design Museum Shop - redesign
UI/UX

The Design Museum Shop redesign explores how an e-commerce experience connected to the Design Museum London can become more accessible, intuitive, and inclusive. The project focuses on improving the Product Listing Page, Product Detail Page, and navigation system, with a particular emphasis on users with cognitive disabilities.
The redesign is driven by information architecture and copywriting. Through card sorting and testing, categories, labels, and overall structure were simplified and reorganised to better reflect how users understand and navigate content. Clear, concise, and familiar language was applied across labels, category names, and product descriptions to reduce ambiguity and support quicker decision making. Together, these changes minimise cognitive load and ensure that users, especially those with cognitive disabilities, can navigate and understand the content with ease. Consistent tone and terminology further strengthen the overall usability of the interface.
The navigation bar was rethought to prioritise clarity and hierarchy over visual complexity. By simplifying the structure and creating a more predictable layout, the system becomes easier to read, scan, and use.
Overall, the project demonstrates how thoughtful structure and accessible design can improve usability while still aligning with the Design Museum’s visual identity.
